How it works

From your local club to the national final

Three stages. Here is exactly what happens at each one.

Stage 1

Club Stage

Register as a pair at one of the participating clubs - registering is free, and the £20 per player entry fee is only requested once four pairs are ready in your group. Your club's Club Hub page shows your group's round-robin table.

Matches are arranged and played through Playtomic, not on the hub — you book your own court there, since you'll need one to play anyway. Once you've played, submit your result on the hub.

Stage 2

Regional Qualifiers

Club winners progress to one of 8 Regional Qualifiers, each held at a single regional venue on a set date.

Regional Qualifiers use an open draw — there is no seeding at this stage.

Regional Qualifiers are free to play in.

Stage 3

National Final

Regional champions from all 8 regions compete at the National Final for four national titles (Men and Women, in two divisions).

The National Finals are free to play in. The four finals will be played on the 2,000-seat show court at PadelXpo, Birmingham, on Sunday 6th June 2027.

Player guide

1. Register

Find your club on the Find Your Club page and register your pair for free. You will need both players' names, emails, mobile numbers and ratings (Playtomic level), and to choose a competition: Division A or B, Men or Women. Division A is for pairs with a combined rating above 6.0; Division B is 6.0 or below. No partner? Register solo and we will pair you automatically with another solo player at your club, in the same competition, whose rating fits the division. In Division A, solo players with a rating below 3.1 are paired personally by our team. The championship is for players aged 18 or over, and you confirm this when you register. Anyone ranked in the top 150 of the LTA Padel rankings on their date of registration is not eligible to play. Registering is free and does not commit you to anything.

2. Get confirmed and pay

Groups are made up of four pairs. As soon as four pairs are ready, each player is emailed to confirm their place, with a personal link to pay the £20 entry fee. Each player pays their own fee, and your payment reference links your payment to you. You never pay until you know you are playing.

Please pay within 7 days of your payment request. The email shows your pay-by date, and we send a reminder around the halfway point and again the day before. Your group cannot start until all eight players have paid. If a player has still not paid after the deadline, their pair may be replaced by the next pair on the waiting list.

If your pair needs to withdraw, email pete@uknapc.com as soon as you can. Your matches are removed, the other pairs in your group are told, and a waiting-list pair takes your place. If nobody is waiting, the group carries on as three pairs.

3. Meet your group

Once your payment is received, you are emailed your group's contact sheet: the names, mobile numbers and emails of the other three pairs (shared only within the group, as agreed when you registered). The first pair on the sheet is asked to start a WhatsApp group with everyone so you can agree match times.

4. Play your matches

In the club stage you play each of the other three pairs in your group once. Matches run through January and February 2027. Pairs arrange matches between themselves, and courts are booked through Playtomic at your club. Either pair can propose a date; please be flexible and reply quickly.

Match format: best of two sets with a tie-break at 6-6. If it is one set each, a championship tie-break decides the winner.

Points, tie-breaks and no-shows

The winning pair of each match earns 1 point. When all group matches are done, the pair with the most points wins the group. If pairs are level on points, the head-to-head result between them decides it. If it is still level, the difference between games won and games lost decides it. If a pair does not show up, they forfeit the match 6-0, 6-0.

5. Record results and follow the table

After each match, agree the score with your opponents and record it using the private results link in your group email (lost it? request it again on the Results page). Your opponents are emailed to confirm the result, and if they do not reply within 72 hours it is confirmed automatically. The group table and results are shown on the same page, so everyone in the group can follow the standings.

Once everyone in your group has paid, your group has 21 days to play its matches. If a match is still unplayed at about half way and again at 80 per cent of that time, you and your opponents are emailed a reminder with their contact details. If a match is still unplayed at the deadline, the organisers step in and may award it as a forfeit.

6. Progress

Group winners go into a knockout to decide each club's champions. Club winners then go to their Regional Qualifier between March and May, and regional winners reach the National Finals at PadelXpo, NEC Birmingham, on 5-6 June 2027, with the four finals played on the 2,000-seat show court on Sunday 6th June. Regional Qualifiers and the National Finals are free to play in.
